In April 1999 the Congregation for Catholic Education approved the Institute for Religious Sciences under the auspices of the Athenaeum''s faculty of theology. The Institute offers a degree in Religious Sciences that can be obtained through distance learning. To achieve these goals the School of the Faith offers: A two-year program of studies that includes courses on doctrine, catechetical methodology and human formation. Diplomas are granted upon completion of the program. It also offers advanced studies in the religious, pastoral, and catechetical sciences, and grants diplomas on various topics relating to the Catholic faith. Production and diffusion of audiovisual and bibliographic materials through its own magazine which acts as a support for the catechetical work. Promotion of Catholic doctrine and the magisterium of the Church on all levels: articles, magazines, books, conferences, conventions, weeks of study, radio, television, and Internet.
